hi all....doing my tappets and balancing throttles on tuesday....
tickover is slightly lumpy
i am intending on getting af-xied set up soon but want a few things doing first...
where are the stepper motors on the bike...im thinking ontop near the throttle bodies...
how do i test if there doing there job properly...
bikes done 52000 miles
cheers all...

You can test them and park them for a TB sync with a gs911. Outside that I haven't a clue. There are many other thinks that are more likely to cause a lumpy idle than an idle stepper. Plugs then coils would be my first place to look.

recently done plugs and coils...air filter all replaced.plugs were very black and sooty but thats all good now...
bike runs great apart from its a pain at slow speed in traffic...like i say itll get a af-xied fitted soon but in the meantime i want to make sure everything else is as good as i can get it..

Mine has a lumpy tickover.
I believe it's a stepper motor but its causes no problems so not bothered to investigate.
They are bolted to the throttle bodies. Take off bike, clean and see if it helps.

They have no effect above 1500 rpm so wont be an issue at hilltop or for AF-XIEDs.
