Hi everyone, I am using my boyfriends user name as I have yet to register. I have just bought a new 2006 F650GS and have so far covered about 150 miles. Looking at the bike from the back, all the exhaust exits from the right hand silencer and none from the left. When I looked closely at the left hand silencer the exit seems to have been welded up. Is this normal?

Thanks, Jan

yep, tis normal and as bm intended, as far as i know it was done to pass the euro emission regs :nenau

The f650 has a cat in the left hand exhaust, the gasses go through that into the left can, then through the link pipe and out of the right exhaust. Here's some blurb from bmw :D

The standard exhaust restricts the bike so much, I've noticed better performance since i fitted a staintune. If you need to know anything else about the 650, try f650.com, has everything you'll ever need to know about the bikes. :thumb
