Folks,
Thinking about changing my ABS 1150GS for an ABS 1200GSA. I have owned a non ABS 1200GS before, but I have a couple of reservations about the 1200GSA. What I would like to know is,what are the brakes like on the 2007 models. I know that the servo has been removed, but are the brakes equal to or better than the older non servo system?
Secondly, the seat. Is it better than the 1200GS?
I have sat on the GSA at shows, but as yet I have not ridden one. Since the demise of SPC, I have not had the time to travel to another dealer, didn't want to waste their time. Hopefully, the new dealer will be openning soon.
Looking forward to your comments,

Vic

The brakes on my 2007 (ABS non servo) model are better than the ones I had on my 1150 (ABS with servo).

They are not as snatchy as the servo models and have more feel and are generally more progressive.

The seat on the GSA12 is the Devil's armchair, standard 12 is more comfy!

better than my old non servo ABS 1150.

more powerful & more feel, except the back brake pedal which is nearly useless. of course that could be 'cos they're linked & pressing the pedal as well as the front brake lever just activates the rear ABS :nenau

Agree with above about the brakes, they have a better feel

as for the seat though, i find the GSA seat More comfy than the GS.

2007 model GS

I took delivery of a 2007 1200GS ABS etc last month (not from my local beach) and have now done 1100miles. The brakes are much better without the servo. Much more control, no snatch and very progressive. The front applies both brakes and the pedel just the back. Much more control. I have a low seat (legs not made to German standard) so can't comment on comfort on the standard seat.
Will let you know how the low seat fairs once I've competed my Moroccan trip in April.

Thanks for the replies. Checked with the BMW site, £800 for ABS + £220 for the traction control, ouch!
