Hi to all who have helped me thus far on this community, i come seeking some more advice. Im a bit crap with technology like satnavs i just use my phone in a cradle on my other bikes, but ive got one of these fold phones that doesn't fit now, plus it used to drain the battery so i think its time for a (used) satnav as i wont be using it on massive trips to europe or anything but would find it useful when blasting around the uk and for when suddenly you find a road closure i dont have to mess around finding a new route. Anyway ive seen all sorts of different advice online and its a bit confusing so hoping someone could suggest a suitable Nav and also a holder that attaches it just above the dials below the screen, ive seen some in pictures but no idea what they are called, the ones on the bars or down low i think will be awkward to see with my tank bag, I'm sure someone will have a set up they use and can point me in the right direction. Cheers all

You've just reminded me that I have a sat nav mount from my old RT in the lock up. It's mounted just below the screen so is withing your normal eyeline when riding. If you're interested, how about £30 plus postage?

As to the actual GPS, I'm still using my very old Zumo 550 and its slightly newer 660 version. Both are now too old to benefit from lifetime maps but you can use OpenStreetMap mapping to get over that. There's plenty of info about that in the GPS section of the forum.

Hey, pete cheers for the reply, if you get chance to sent over a picture of that mount ill certainly take a look, is it for a specific make or one that fits many? I think i had an old zumo 550 years ago i have a feeling it lived in the back of the garage and then got thrown out when i had one of those mega clearouts haha.

Will do. It's a Migsel and should fit any type of satnav. Identical to this ... https://www.migsel.com/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=63

That looks like it will do the trick, i think that's pretty much what i saw on some online pictures, dig it out and drop me a message cheers, just got to figure out what satnav to stick on it now haha might just pin a map to it old school style

I just got back from a two day trip round wales with it, wow how the hell have i been riding all these years without one, made my life and ride so much better i used to be forever stopping an checking my phone. took a bit of figuring out for someone non tech savy but now ive got the hang of it, its really very good

The Garmin Zumo XT does have a few little quirks that can cause a lot of frustration but learning the flaws will have it performing flawlessly

Check out https://zumouserforums.co.uk/ some fantastic advice on there
cheers for the link ill take a read up on that, im hopeing it lasts a long time so i want to get the most out of the unit.
