Hi Folks,

Looking to see if anyone has fitted these transparent valve covers to their bike? I had a quick search on the topic and nothing came up so just thought i would ask.

Thing is are the plastic, do they last will they not easily be damaged cracked? I do like the idea of being able to see everything working looks quite trick however if there are downsides then i will avoid.

Seen these and yea, in the photos, they look cool. But the cynic in me had a few doubts...

1. Once the oil has had a chance to spread itself around, will it still be possible to see in?
2. Like you, I wonder how they'd fare in an off - though I guess crash bars and head covers would mitigate that to a large extent.
3. Not sure I'd wanna see what's going on in there as I wringing it's neck bombing around some mountain passes or fast A roads

Marvelpus stuff. , imagine the anxiety and stress they'll cause to the typical adventure riding UKGSer who'll be able to see metal bits whirring around like billy-O.

They'll be stopping every 5 minutes because something doesn't look right.

I've got windowed clutch covers on both of my TL's. Pretty pressure plates too. They do look nice. Some owners have shown a little anxiety when doing short journeys when the window gets a bit emulsified with condensation. It soon goes when up to temperature though.
Not too sure about having clear head covers though.

I think it would be great to see the parts moving and if anything was wrong you'd hear ie before seeing it.

Re giving a bike beans - If you thought what was actually going directly underneath you and a tank of highly flammable fuel and the punishment you were giving it I think few of us would ride them hard again!
 
sound like a money making scheme by an internet dealer!. Crap for sale!.
 
I couldn’t do it Once the oil would get a little darker I’d have to change it for fresh stuff.
