Had a look at the anerversery GSes at Vines yesterday and whilst i was there has a look around the fleet, I was suprised to see that the paint quality on the 2010 models looked poor not that it is very good anyway but the swinging arm especialy looked awful any one else noticed this ? or any coments on 2010 finish ?

You're trying to upset BWM, aren't you ?

I don't know the answer to your question, but when I look at the "solid, robust" finish on 1995 R1100GSs compared to modern GS1200s, I do feel a pang of loss. I am in the unique position of seeing an R1100R I sold to a friend some 10 years ago quite regularly. It still looks as top quality as the day I sold it, and compared to my GSA1200 (2008 model), the R1100R looks better made.

2010 finish ............. excellent !!!! :comfort

Even better than my 1994 immaculate R100GSPD.

Even better than my 2003 immaculate Africa Twin.

Happy Trolling :aidan

old washing machines

Our 1200s are made of recycled washing machines, the early bikes were made of fresh quality metal, thats why they still look so good.............:Motomartin

The build quality of my 2010 GSA is better than any other bike I've had. But the 1200 stickers on the tank haven't been done very well, the edges are a bit rough

hi my 2010 paint on swing arm very poor will be taking it up at next service , Had a 2007 gs before the new bike and the finish on frame and cycle parts was much better finished..

Yes this was what i noticed looks like the paint on the swing arm has been applied with a brush ! Much better on my 58 plate would be very dissapointed with that level of finish
