2013 LC Track day Keary,s Cork

16th August track day by Keary's Motorrad.
A top quality organised event with demo rides available.
Also GP winner Simon Crafar and some top class local racers.
The proceeds went to Down Syndrome Ireland.
The young lad with Simon got a pillion ride, it was his first time astride a motorcycle!!

I took the 650 scooter for a spin, its a really nice piece of kit but woefully slow on track. great for concentrating on the race line (nothing else to do on the lap really)

I also had a session on the HP4 a divine motorcycle true motorcycle porn.
This bike has loads of everything you will not run out of speed, handling, breaking. it hits the apex with precision every time BUT I would have to have it a good while to get used to the arse up riding position again. I guess wearing a peaked hat didnt help, i could only see the bottom half of the track.

Next up was the K1600GT.
I did the Ring on my K1200GT and it was great.
I just didn't like the 1600 I loved it in every way. I could have spent the whole day track riding this magnificent motorcycle, i would have stayed on it until midnight if Keary's had let me. The bike is a challenge to track ride and very satisfying scraping the pegs in total comfort.
I WANT THIS MOTORCYCLE.
Did i say 'I WANT THIS MOTORCYCLE'.

As some of the LC guy's know i was really disappointed with the gearchange on the 2013 bike. but after some spirited riding and the track day I am smitten. I have to eat my words don't get me wrong I am still unhappy with the gearchange and i want it fixed but riding this bike at pace is WOW WOW.
Superb speed, handling and breaking. completely safe and predictable. The TC was a brilliant track bike but the LC can mix it with the fast Jap stuff.

I love being out on track with professional riders, they often pass me so close i could touch them but i feel so secure and its a joy to watch them do their stuff from the best seat in the house.
If you see a LC with bright blue headers you will know its been put to good use.

Enjoyed that Pat, great video that has me questioning my decision to go fo the 90 Aniv GSA.

Have to concur about the K1600. Have had mine for two months now and this machine is just phenomenal.
