With the BMW factory summer shut down almost on us, will there be any tweaks to the new R1200GS when production starts again? Or is it too soon for any changes?

Anyone in the know:nenau

Revised gearbox, with new bearings/shims and stonger clutch & basket i'm told, together with an newly updated water/oil pump so the the weep hole doesn't leak

Apart from that, all is the same:thumby:

Quick reply.

So they got most of it right 1st time:thumb

Whats caused the pannier problem, was that just a small batch?

I have heard that there will be no water added to the engine to prevent leaks from the pump.

Apparently they now realise there is enough air cooling for satisfactory performance and the accountants are looking for cost savings due to poor sales despite discounting, particularly in the UK, to maintain volume.

Also there will be a six cylinder option as sales of the K1600 have stalled.

There is also a rumour that a hybrid version will be launched with an elastomeric continuous band that stores power on the over-run, particularly downhill, to release explosive additional thrust when triggered. This is to expand sales.

When they get back...full steam (ha ha) ahead with the Wazzer GSA :nenau
