Question..

I cant access the Media player on my Nav5. When i try to, i get a message on screen telling me to use the bike audio...
I want to use the nav5 for playing music because SWIMBO can also listen to same music through the Nav5.

Also, I cant connect a second headset via Bluetooth to the bike audio system. It will connect Helmet 1, but not helmet 2. Which is way i'm trying connect through the Nav5...:blast:confused::mad:

Anyone...?

Unless youre using BMW system helmets with their built in intercom you can only connect one helmet via bluetooth, same issue with the k1600. If your usng sena intercoms you can connect one helmet to bike and share the music stream to a second sena device witht the latest software update.
As for the nav 5 mine does the same on my K1600 and I havent found a work around yet, I just use a usb stick with mp3s plugged into bike or stream directly from my iphone to headset.

Thanks for your help and advice Tony.

I suspected as much with the on-bike audio and BMW helmet malarkey. But it seems strange that the 'Connect Helmet 2' doesn't even search for a device, and just says 'option not available'...ho hum:confused:

As for the Nav5 media player issue, lets hope someone comes up with a workaround.

Cheers

Have you got your music loaded onto an SD card in the Nav V?

I have on mine & it works fine to my Sena SMH10. I don't have an RT, I have a GSA & I pair that directly with the Sena. At the moment, however, I can hear the music but my wife can't.

Yes, mp3s are on the SD card.

Strange thing is, both of us can hear the music from the nav5 (through our Scala G9x's), but its not displayed on screen, so i cant select tracks or control it..??!!

I think the bmw audio system , which is the same on Rt and k1600 , disables the media output from the nav 5 once its plugged into the bike. Theres been a lot of discussion about it on the k1600 forums, it will only do this on bikes with the audio system fitted by all accounts.
If you use a memory stick plugged in then you can access it through the wheel on left bar and scroll or flick through tracks, albums etc. I have about 2000 mp3s loaded onto 16gb stick and set it on random play and use the wheel to scroll through them. Only thing it won`t control is volume, you still need to alter that at the headset. Seems to be the most popular compromise with us K1600 boys.
