Hi , i picked up a new GSA a couple of weeks ago and it feels to me anyway when your cruising at 60-70 mph a bit harsh or rough through the final drive? I had a 2011 twin cam before and it was a lot smoother ride. I mentioned it when it went in for its 1st service and was told its just the same as any other but i wonderd if anyone else had noticed a difference or a roughness to the final drive between an air cooled and an LC? The air cooled was on Tourances (not the nexts) and my LC is running Annakee 3's.

Kind regards
Barrie

Never noticed it, had two air-cooled 1200s and on my second LC.

I'm swapping Anakees for Pilot road trails at the first service in a few weeks; I'll report back if in notice any difference. Coming off a 2014 LC GS I've found the GSA to be a bit on the harsh side. Not by a lot, but it's noticeable - I leave the ESA in comfort almost all the time. I had put it down to the extra weight - most heavy but powerful bikes have slightly firmer suspension or they'd struggle to handle well. Having owned a VFR1200 and done several test rides on a Crosstourer and a Tiger Explorer they felt the same.

Go back to your dealer, and take out their demo GSA to see how the ride compares.

Similarly I changed my 2012gsa for the liquid cooled 2014 model and felt it was bouncing all over the road in ESA soft settings, I have found the best set up as close to the experience of the old bike is in dynamic mode with the ESA on normal. I believe ive adapted better to the new bike now after 1500miles and would say my initial reservations have gone and its now a much smoother ride than the old bike.

Hey Matty, you will think that you have got a new bike when you exchange those Anakees for the fantastic PR4's which will improve the ride enormously.

Hi ,Thanks for the reply's I am starting to think its the tyres, i am going to try Nutty's suggestion and bag a ride on the dealers demo bike to see if theres any difference, but it does seem to change on different road surfaces, it's not noisy but it does feel harse through the pegs. Iam off to Switzerland on it next week so if anythings wrong that trip should show it up!

regards
Barrie
