They are loved, but can appear and feel intimidating to some as they're heavy to handle, but once on the go they're very well behaved.
A lot of people want modern technology too. These are old tech in the big scheme of things.
Hopefully someone will see it for what it is: a world class tourer, that'll also commute and whizz two off for a day out/weekend, with low tech therefore less to go wrong that isn't mechanical.
"A lorra lorra bike." As Cilla would say!

have a bump from me

Nothing to stop someone putting a modern android system on it.
Its got CC and heated grips.

Could be a great bike to go touring on its even got the luggage ready! 👍

I can throw this in if it helps. It’s one of the American shelf mount jobs that fits above the dash that you can attach said Android unit, GPS, Phone etc on.

They feel light and managable compared to an ST1300 - as always, it depends what you're used to - that becomes your normal.

GLWS Simon.

Righto, going to give this bike another chance, with a few tweaks to the ergonomics. It’s just too good to give up on it.

So no longer for sale.
A damn good decision if you ask me....which you haven't 🤣.
Just been out on mine for a run round, stopped at Moto Central Wolvey, used all my powers of control not to part with any money, and strangely enough succeeded.
The bike was a dream to ride, even in this heat, with the screen down.
What more could anyone want?
Glad I didn't sell mine now.....although.....tomorrow is another day 😬😬

Are there comfort issues when you say ergonomics?

They're pretty versatile re the handlebars. However, I spoke to a yamaha dealer and they said moving the bars back isn't as straight forward as it seems.
Raising them could also be an issue, per them re cable lengths etc.
I just kept mine as they are, but I raised the seat, it goes up about an inch, but it does make a difference, needless to say, it tilts you forward a bit more.
For me the trade off was easing the hip/knee angles v the slightly more lean forward. It works for me, but everyone's different. I hope you sort it.
The grips are a bit thicker in diameter, and I notice it on my thumb joint at times.
