I have bought R1250 GS Rallye in Vietnam at Thaco distributor. Everything is working well until I went to workshop outside to update the firmware and the issues come:

1. The lightning function is not available in the menu of dashboard and the daylight button not working.
2. Gear up indicator disappears on dashboard.
3. I can not use Cruise control

I came to Thaco distributor workshop in Vietnam for checking and technician does re upload the new firmware to the bike but it was not successfully because the error as below:

The imported vehicle order differs from the vehicle order saved in the vehicle
Added vehicle order elements: 0M04; $202

Removed vehicle order elements: 0M01; $562

I plugged fog lights Clearwater Sevina for my bike. Is it the problem of errors above and do I need to remove fog lights before re uploading the new firmware?

Could you please help me and Thaco workshop how to solve this problem?

Are Thaco a bmw main dealer ? If they are and they can’t fix your problem then no one here will be able to help with any firmware updates.

the VO (vehicle order) is supposed to be BMW list of approved toys bought, paid for and put on the bike at build AND OR subsequentially officially retrofitted by a dealership

if you have fake dealer tools and know what you are doing, you can get at the bikes software and enable / add / turn on, various features and toys. BUT if the bike is subsequently back at a dealership and they try to flash an updated i-level (new software) for the whole bike, it can go horribly wrong.

the dealers aren't trained very well and fail to check if the VO on a BMW, is the same as the factory VO. If it is different they should stop - and either check why all the stolen toys have be added and or what the owner knows has been done to the bike....

At this point there is a choice

1) disconnect all the illegal toys and put it back to standard and flash the bike so only what is bought and paid for is working (charging the customer for the time and effort)
2) ask the owner if they wish to PAY for the FSC code licensing and support for the toys they now have on the bike and thus want them to work (I had ASC officially put on my old GS for £140 last year)
3) tell you to go away

But they don't often have the foresight to do those steps and just plug it in and crash the bike leaving muddled mess - the dealer tool in conjunction with an online handshake to Germany squirt the new software to each module in turn following the factories VO order ... when it comes to a module that isn't on their list, it tries to write the wrong software to the wrong module and keels over under the strain

those two could be stating they charged you to return the bike to a standard Middle East spec bike - from an illegally localised Thai market configuration

for others interested try putting your chassis number in https://mdecoder.com and see what it comes up with

its allegedly all fixed after BM had a rethink (which probably means explained to the dealer how to use their tools)
