2024 GSX-S1000GX

I really, really liked this Suzuki, but £1200 for heated grips, centre stand and a comfy seat before you’ve even strapped on your luggage? I think Suzuki have got the pricing badly wrong because however much bhp it has, it’s going to be compared with the Yamaha Tracer GT+ and the Tracer comes with everything for the price of the bare Suzuki.

Look, @longdog Cymru, I haven't forgiven you for deserting the Super ten brigade after all these years.

Seriously, you & Arsey have led me into temptation, as the GT+ looks impressive. I was thinking, as an all-rounder, it would cover the roles of both my current Yams, an S10 & FJR adequately - like many others, neither bike has seen enough miles since the pandemic in any event..

Suzuki, with both the GX & it's GT cousin, seem to have created a pair of bikes whose purpose, whose market positioning, doesn't quite make sense. I guess it gives sports bike converts a rationale, but most of us had to get over that hurdle years ago, as road conditions changed.

Hi squibb, to be honest, I really miss my S10 and if I could have kept it alongside my Tracer, then I would. I had a test ride on the Tracer and I was smitten, no regrets so far, it’s lighter, sportier and it is pretty comfortable to while giving me 58-60 mpg average so far. I’m wondering where to take it this year, back to Germany and Denmark or maybe Scotland and Ireland.
If you haven’t had a test ride yet, then get yourself one, you know it makes sense!

Mike

Tracer GT+ could well be the best bike I’ve ever owned. (But aren’t they all ! Well, no, actually)

Local dealer has a mint 2025 model with just 546 miles on it for £8995.

Might go try it next week when back from Brittany.
Wasn’t over enamoured when I tried one but worth a second chance .
Loving my 4 cylinder CB650R so who knows.
Would need to change the tyres though and get better brake pads.

Seems a good price as new it’s about £12500 without VAT

I have completed @ 6k on mine in just over 6 months and am really enjoying it.
As with every bike I’ve had to change things to suit me, bar risers, lowered pegs and a screen. I’ve had to do this on pretty much every bike including a Tracer 9 GT.
You can just bumble around or play at silly buggers with it by feeding it revs. Standard tyres were legal but a set of new tyres lifts the handling to a much nicer place.
It averages around 50mpg dependant on the use of the throttle so nothing to moan about there.
Brakes, I pull the lever, it stops no drama there.
It’s on 0% pcp which is a great rate so why buy with cash :)

I was told by the actual dealer that the phone integration was shocking has anyone have any experience with this
I did fancy one of these after having the GSXS1000GT for a while as a 2nd bike but I listen to music and take calls every time I ride so that was a deal breaker for me

Big price drops on the GX from April

The (now standard) GX+ is on my 'considered' list to replace my GSA. Test ride booked for first week of June.

I really liked the look of it in the showroom and a positive test ride might mean I can move to one bike. I think is prefer to find used though, just do I don't have to take all the early depreciation.

Honestly don’t think I’ve seen a single one out and about. No surprise the big discounts, not convinced in the current market they’ll make much difference.

I certainly haven't seen one. There seem to be a few deals to be had across brands, from lowered prices to 0% finance. I think it's probably a struggle.

For being a lazy git and real world type riding, I am no marquez, I really do like the duolever/paralever/telelever (depends on which bike you have) suspension setups and shaft drive of the BMW's - Triumph figured this out too for the low maintenance aspect even though it saps more power than a chain...but I will take that all day long.
Suspension, not convinced electronically controlled antidive etc etc will last that long, just yet another thing to go wrong, at least the BMW setup 'can' be trouble free.....only have to see the stories on the ESA setups to know they need to be fixed at some point so goodness knows what to expect from these on the suzuki......

However, these bikes are well over half the price of a beemer and I am sure will do everything a beemer can do and have high rev smiles..........

Why isn't someone making aninline 4/v4 with shaft drive and hossack type suspension other than BMW, reckon it would sell well.....
