So she didn’t actually try one ? Was just led by other peoples opinions ?

She doesn't need to try one to know that she needs a bike that can atain a decent speed. She isn't going to go touring on it but regular summer trips to the coast etc will be something that she will want to be able to do without feeling vulnerable on faster roads because she can't get up to the speed of the traffic (which is what happens on her current CB125).

The suspension on the Triumph is awful. If I bought one I'd be looking at swapping it out plus fitting a decent chain from new as there are several reports of the standard ones lasting less than a thousand miles. That's the best part of £2k on top of the purchase price.
The Honda may not be as quick but as a bike designed to just plod along it could be a better buy.

2K for replacement shocks and a chain (if she's that unhappy with the standard ones)?? Where do you get those prices from, she doesn't need racing spec Ohlins, how much for a Hagon shock?

I still think she should have tried one before making assumptions.
I never thought my Himmy 450 could sit comfortably at 82 mph on autoroutes but it can.
Mate had a RE 350 Classic and it was fine at 60 mph.

Anyone with a basic understanding of suspension won't touch a Hagon shock, It's super budget and you get what you pay for. Plus the front on the Triumph is dreadful and that's not such an easy fix.
I was looking at the Rally Raid suspension, the cartridge kit is £931 and the shock £537, plus a chain and then fitting if you can't do it yourself. Oh, the other big disappointment is the footrests, they appear to be sourced from a batch of Christmas crackers.
Anyway, this post is about the Honda which is a finished product.

Pershaps Mille Rider can post his love for the crap Triumph in the appropriate thread rather than diss this nice little Honda that he’s not even ridden yet knows it’s gutless. The forum that keeps on giving

Saw this model of gb350 at Carlisle the other day , large and quite roomy in the flesh and well finished , even with the accessory pack fitted it is supposedly cheaper than most Japanese built 125's on the market . Apparently built in Japan and sold at this price in Europe to put RE in their place

Sat on one in Lyon last week, I was surprised by the ergonomics, it really didn’t feel small, plenty of leg room,

Agreed . Loved the ADV350 but this has a bit more character and is also much cheaper .

I think it is a lovely looking thing, apart from the slightly tacky chrome exhaust heat shield. That might look better colour matched to the exhaust, maybe with a small chrome or ally plate where your heel may catch it. One has to question the need for the rider aids on a 20bhp bike.

Exactly what I was thinking.
Probably will go down that route in France, not so much over here though.

Curious to see if this will be completely invisible to the Italian market, probably yes.

Hadn’t even noticed .
But for £3350 it’s a bargain and I’m not really bothered if one panel is not aesthetically pleasing.
