2025 Multi V2S

An enjoyable , likeable , reviewer
But NOT a highly experienced motorcycle expert .

Had a look at that little Multi...beautifully screwed together, looks a really top quality bike, superbly finished all bar a few pieces of cheap looking plastic bits either side of the cockpit area. Didn't get the chance to ride it.....still need to watch a few more Missenden Flyer vids to learn how:oops:. A fellow instructor friend did take one out and felt it was a bit too skittish due to rake/trail/wheelbase. However, the factory standard settings on many Ducatis I have recently ridden seem very stiffly set up from the factory and usualy do need dialling in for each rider, including my own, so that may well have had a part in his experiences. Said it felt featherweight compared with his RT but ended up preferring the V4 Multi due to it feeling more planted and grunty.

I sat through the Flyer's video of his latest Streetfighter purchase....

I didn't know whether to laugh or throw things at the screen.

What a tosser. Is he afraid to use the quickshifter?

As an owner of A 2024 13K v4S Grandtour I decided to take the V2 out for a ride . Found it a great bike , fun to ride , powerful enough ( ?) and put a smile on my face.
Took the new 2025 V4s out after , well what a bike , the new mods and tweakes have made great gains to an already great bike . I bought one.
Now the V2 as must as I enjoyed it was flawed , you may ask why. Well its built to a price as you can see by the finish , the engine runs out of steam early for me and the low torque makes it harder to ride. The suspension is basic and when pushed it starts to suffer from stability issues on back roads unlike its bigger sister.
The bike is a great entry bike for folks who may need a lighter bike with less power , but for me the V4 is a better choice even with its extra weight and usable power ( the V2 did feel nice and light tho , but this also transferred to the road feel) I agree with Moretys riding mate.

It's odd, but I felt similar when looking at the 950 Multi, and given that the same engine resides in the monster 950 and hypermotard, it feels quite different to ride in the Supersport. Wind the taps fully on in 3rd gear and it goes like a scalded cat. Possibly the Ohlins, but I found it far more planted and sure footed than on the Multi. The new V2 I think is better in the Ohlins trim. Few will buy the basic set up if they ride both back to back.

The V2 Multi I rode was the S with all the bells and whistles , still found it as I decribed. Did not ride the V2 Street fighter as found it a bit cramped for me as stopped riding that type of bikes after a neck trauma . I think im spoilt by the Adventure type bikes R1300 gs or the Multi V4s , both great bikes .

If it is the same Ohlins the supersport uses, I wouldn't describe it as basic at all. Have no similar issues with mine, but it is possible they use different on the V2. Then again, riding and drawing conclusions really needs to be done with the suspension set up for you as factory settings I found way out for me on mine. Made a world of difference getting it set up right. It's not something that can be practicably done for test rides though

I had about 30 mins on a V2S the other day.

Heavy clutch and front brake.

Dash is too small.

Switchgear looks and feels cheap.

But, what a great engine....and so flickable.

the 9550S has Skyhook

yes, I'd fogotten that the multi uses Skyhook as does the V2. Feedback from two friends who both tried the 950 Multi was very similar. They found it to be a little choppy and nervous, one going on to buy a supersport instead because of the better handling with the other intending on buying the V4 multi which he preferred.

My 950s supersport doesn't use the Skyhook set up, and AFAIK, none of the 930/950S Supersport models used it. Mine uses a quality Ohlins manual suspension set up, whilst the standard model used 43mm Marzocchi forks and a Sachs monoshock. The difference in riding both is significant, that Ohlins set up being nigh on perfect for UK roads. It's so well damped and sprung that I honestly cannot see any benefit to using the more costly and heavier Skyhook system on the 950 supersport anyway. I understand though why the 950 Multi does use it , presumably as it was intended for touring there's benefit due to loading differences (one up, two up, luggage or not) making it more convenient.
