2025 Pan America ST

It would be quirky in a home built scenario but I reckon the factory design team just wanted to see how far they could go before the corporate backers realised they were taking the piss.
So, so true.
Show me any “adventure” bike that looks pretty or is a masterful ‘design-over-function’ statement.
But they sell well. 👍

And it looks like this hideous bastard ST has at least one buyer in its sights. :D

That last sentence could have also been written about the 1300GSA
Absolutely- and this coming from me who once bought (second hand and very cheap) K1300R which is up there in the ugly naked award category.
At the time I must have been going through my rebellious phase as I took delight in taking it on rides and track just to embarrass folk who thought they were riding the dogs boll*x in comparison ✌️

Obviously Brits buy GS's because they have their head stuck in the sand compared to our continental neighbours, but I bet there isn't a single European market where the Pan has achieved substantial sales compared to the GS. I'd wager that BMW sell more GS's in the US than Harley manage to sell Pans.

K1300R is fabulously ugly . I’d have one !!

I detested the looks of the first Pan, this one is a little better but it's still lacking in the beauty stakes. However, what I dislike most is that it's still a big heavy cradle framed lump of a bike built around the equivalent of an American muscle car of old...the equivalent of a ladder chassis and big engine chucked in with sporting pretences. It'll never be up to the handling characteristics of a way more sophisticated Multi nor even a newer GS despite the review. For those berating it's looks (understandable), it's really no worse than the butt fugly GSA1300, especially given you have to squint to see either in a positive light. It wouldn't be for me, but I am intrigued but that motor which promises gob-fulls of torque and character. At least it has that if little else to tempt. My previous dealings with Harley though immediately discount any of them based on the problems I had with mine as well as the worst customer service I've ever experienced with any brand dealership.

I can think of better ways to spend that amount, I'd rather something slightly second hand that didn't make me feel so bad 🤢whenever I saw it

I think it sounds like a good bike, a HD that has some character in the engine, goes round corners, brakes, has a decent fuel range and isn’t too tall or low. I reckon with a pair of bags thrown over it i could have an excellent trip and most certainly not blend in.

The looks are “different” but, sometimes it’s nice to be on a bike that isn’t the same as everyone else and if people walked up and said they hated the looks it wouldn’t bother me.
I might go and have a test ride come the spring.
