Does anyone know if it is possible to stop the 2160 from recording maximum speed?

I doubt it. It's no reliable indication of maximum speed attained on the road anyway as the 324 mph recorded on my old Garmin eMap will testify.

I don't think it'd stand up in court as evidence for the prosecution.

Ah, but Mike. You should have stuck with a VFR, they're much faster :D

I'd like to see that used in evidence against me.

What's a little more incriminating is the track-log. If you analyse one you can get time/date, place and speed with each point before and after showing the same. Builds up a bigger picture. However, as a non calibrated device I don't think even that could be used in evidence :nenau

Should I tell you the story about the rider of a certain supercharged FiY, in fact the only supercharged FiY in the UK, who struggled to keep up with me....? ;)

On roads you knew... I acknowledge that the GS is a fine machine and handles exceptionally well. Though I imagine that the outcome, i.e. you ahead, would have been similar had you swapped bikes though :nenau

It's not always the machine.
