Hopefully GSRich will pick this up!!

Am I right?

Connect Brown Garmin wire to the Autocom 'screen' wire
Connect White Garmin wire to the Autocom other colour wire
Black Garmin wire - Isolate
Red Garmin wire - Isolate

Got the relevant autocom bits and it works fine audio very clear I'm just aware that the garmin plug is pretty naff

I noticed at the bottom of the garmin lead (by the battery end) the brown and white wires, could these be used so everything stays under the seat?

Ta in advance!

Only naff in that it needs a 2mm rubber washer between the female Garmin and male Autocom to make them meet properly. No cutting required:thumb

Sorry to appear a bit thick here, but are you talking about the jack-plug that goes into the 2160 ...?

I'm asking because when I tried to connect my 2610 to the Autocom, all I got was a gadawful screech ... could this be my solution?

Guys,

as far as I know you cannot connect the garmin directly to the autocom.
The autocom connect one of the audio signal cable to the ground (-) and the risk is that you blows out the audio from you garmin device (shortcut).
You need to separate (electronic) the audio signal, autocom has a special cable to connect the separate systems.
