I,m thinking of getting the 2610 never had a GPS before so new to all the ups and downs, But my son is off to Canada in May, so I had a look on the internet and saw a company selling them there for $600 US. What are the pitfalls? or do you think I have miss read the site? Chris

Firstly, US$600 is too cheap to be true! Check what you are getting. You should get the 2610, a MapSource disk, a US basemap, City Navigator North America v5 with full unlock codes, beanbag mount, dashboard mount, power cable-cum-speaker, USB data cable, 128Mb CF card, mains power supply, manuals and a box to pack it all in.

The current floor price is just over US$800 plus tax.

Secondly, you need European mapping data and a suitable unlock code.

Finally, bringing such a unit into the UK from a non-EU source should attract 17½% VAT.

If you can deal with all that, I'd say go for it!

Thanks for the reply Greg. went back to the site and I did get it wrong The $600 was for a street pilot 111 deluxe and the 2610 was $749 so as you say to good to be true! Chris
