The ratchet that allows you to alter the angle of the 2610 and keep it in one position when it's mounted on the bean bag has become rather "loose" , which allows the GPS to flop about :o

Any ideas on how to adjust the tension, so that the ratchet performs properly?

Doesnt look like there is anything adjustable.

If you remove the screw at the back at the top of the ratchet (as I just did) you'll find there is a plastic spindle which runs in a ridged slot that forms the adjustment mechanism.

if it gets worn i cant see how it could be repaired short of replacing the whole section. :nenau

How old is the unit - warranty claim?

It's still in as it's a Nav 2 and I have the original receipt :)

Just going to use it to go to Garmisch this week  and then into the car for the "family" holiday :o in the south of France later in the month :)

I hoped that the screw would give some hope, but like you I think it's completely unadjustable. Might have to make a "thingy" that'll keep the screen at the required angle of dangle.
