having viewed many threads realting to the GPS units it would appear that nows the time to get a 2610 at the right price.

The question is having paid for the unit what are the cost of the extra bits that are required to fit and run it on my 1150GS. From the pictures i have seen i would prefer to mount it above the clocks for ease of use, whats the additional costs for things like brackets and power cables etc.

Many Thanks for your time :beerjug:

And your point is ?

Using the RAM Mount Wizard, the same part numbers come up as for the 1200,so I assumed the fitting would be the same.

My point is simply that the 1150 does not have the same screen mounting frame as the 1200 (as I am sure you know) therefore, to mount the GPSR above the clocks would not be possible using the parts you mentioned. No offense intended.

i would concur with this......

U won't need the u-bolt shim if you mount it to 1150 handlebar.

I have the Motorrad Concepts mount which fits the GPS above the clocks on my 1150. It is a very well made bit of kit, and the final positioning is superb, much better that down on the handlebar crossbar.

Have a look at this and see what you think:

I know I'm only using a Tomtom Rider, but I think the actual bike bit of the mount is the same for the Garmin and the Rider. Dutchman will be able to confirm this I'm sure.

You will love the unit so much... that soon you will want for sound !

So add a few more £ for autocom or equivalent... and that can be quite expensive

IMHO sound is essential cos you can keep your eyes on the road :rob
:D
