2610 hanging up

any ideas why my 2610 had decided to go on strike! seems to be very slow to process and takes and age to re-route if you change direction.
other than that works fine but now become very annoying? :(
 
Maps not to the same revision of that which you calculated them on? Only running with the base map enabled?

If all elese fails try a hard reset, but remove the data card and remember that you'll have to upload all the waypoints and routes again, and the 2610 will think it's in the USA or Taiwan. HTH.
 
The only other thought is to try and upload the latest software, even if you think it's laready in there.

In the days when the SP3 was cutting edge, it took ages to recalculate if you went off route as it recalculated the whole of the remaining route. Garmin then introduced the software where it would try and get you back onto route in the shortest possible disatnce for 3 times. This speeded everything up, but still not to 2610 standards. I'm sure the 2610 uses the same idea though.
