2610 -Interference!!!

Hi GPS Guru's...

Ive recently fitted a Garmin 2610 to my bike. I also have Autocom Active-7-Smart fitted.

The mains lead for 2610 has also a hard wired separate wire which then plugs into the phones/music of the Autocom so you can listen to voice prompt's etc....easy so far eh!

When the voice prompt's kick in, all I get is a really annoying electrical buzzing noise from inside my helmet whenever the girl gives which route etc...

I have tried this lead in both the phones and music socket on Autocom unit, and it's still the same, mega electrical noise.

Have I wired it right? Do I need to order any other part from Autocom to stop this interference? Help....!!!!!!

You need an isolator part for the Garmin audio lead - part number 1285 I think.

You might also need to hard-wire the Garmin power/sound lead to the cable you're using to route the Garmin noise back to the Autocom.

It made all the difference to my setup.
