2610 & Ireland

Hi folks, using a 2610 and mapsource V8 for the first time, I was in Dublin today and expected it to go to street level but NO. Only got main roads and as a result when I put in a route it was sending me all over the place to get to destination. Needless to say I paid no attention to it's directions, just brought it with me to try it out. Anybody know when street level will be available for Ireland. Thanks

Garmin haven't really had any great detail of ireland other than some major cities. The map company they get map data from (navteq) have completed a full survey within the last 6 months so i'm guessing that garmin may have it in there next version of mapping. Well i hope they do.

but there is a lot of new road works going on in dublin they may not be on it... are you sure you're not running just the base map?

Well went messing just now and found my memory card not pushed in correctly, DAH !!!!!!!. Dublin is well mapped now compared to today. Anyway went looking at Sligo and it does not have all streets shown. Should it??????????????

Read the manual, it's simple.

The thing is, I've read the manual but cannot find reference to "Home" in the index or at any other relevent location in the manual.

Look in the introduction - "creating your own routes"

= "setting a home waypoint"

= page 30


Lets hope you find find your on the road better than you do in the manual
