2610 Maps

I've had a brand new 2610 sat here for a year or so as a spare .I thought I'd try it tonight but as soon as I turn it on it keeps saying
Some maps could not be unlocked would you like to enter an unlock code.
I've entered the three codes I have for city navigator 6+7+8 but it's still not showing anymaps when you zoom right out as in the gold squares showing what maps have been downloaded to the card.
All I have done is take a card from my old 2610 unit & inserted it the new one should this be all thats needed.
The pc recognizes it as it downloaded a route I just did but I havent got street level on it surely this information is on the card swapped over from my other unit.

The maps you have on your memory cards will only work on the units that you've unlocked them to.

Otherwise we'd all be borrowing someone elses newest card to use on our units.

No. Unlock the 2nd 2610 using www.mygarmin.com onto the 1st's mapping, and then all you'll need is one CF card which you can swap between the two units.
