Is there anyway to do a simple find just using the postcode on the 2610? i'v read what Adamz says regarding the SP111 but as I'm a MAC user (I can get access to a PC but its a bit of a hassle!) so just being able to do it on the unit would be nice, I'v read the hand books loads of times am I missing something?

Thanks Chris::confused:

Just had a quick play with my Nav2 and can't see anywhere to search by postcode on the gpsr anywhere.

Beacon, I think (I'm not 100% sure) that this capability was introduced with software revision 3.40, which was just recently released.

Check to see what software version you are running on your GPSR (press MENU, INFO, SYSTEM INFO), if it is less than 3.40, try upgrading the software (it's a free download, and easy to do), then fool around with it and let us know what you find.

Here's the link to the Garmin free software downloads:

Software Updates

While you are at it, I recommend you download a free copy of the newly revised (and entirely revised, I might add) User Manual for the SP 2610. This manual describes all the changes and additions to the GPSR software that have been made since version 2.10 (the original release) and is complete right up to and including version 3.40 features.

You can download the new manual here: SP 2610 / 2650 User Manual, Revision B, April 2004

Do a 'find address' and in the 'limit' box, where it normally says 'England', change it to post code.

I'm finding the 'find' feature rather clunky. It doesn't seem to be able to find streets, but recognises the name when you get there. Duh!

Also, try searching for common roads like 'High Street' or 'London Road'.

Anyway, try asking here: http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=96

OK i can do that, but i still have to put in the street or the "find" button is greyed out. how dumb is that???

i tried to get it to find a place yesterday & it wouldn't.

when i was just down the road & asked it to direct me somewhere else it directed me straight through the place i was first looking for (by name) :banghead:
