Finaly got round to sort out my 2610. As having problems with the sound which i have got going through a Autocom super pro avi which i picked up from the nec this year. whenever it cuts in to give directions all i get is a load of static coming through the helemet, alll the other inputs work fine as have a ipod and mobile conneceted up and passanger headset as well.
I no its not interferance as have taken the cable away from all electrics and still getting the noise?
Any ideas will be much appreciated

I'd go along with this.

I have the previous system and Autocom have changed all the part number just to confuse everyone.

You need to get hold of the 3.5mm stereo - 3.5 mm mono - used to be Part 170.

And 'cos I also plug my MP3 player in, I use the magic black box Part 57.

Cables

Thought it might be the cablebut as it all came in a package i whould have thought it should be the right one? think i may have to try and phone them when they next open again.
Cheers for the help

Is it just a plain cable or is there a moulded box in it? If it's the former then it's not the right cable; if the latter then there's another problem. :rob

I had the same problem with my Autocom and my BMW Navigator 2 (2610 clone).

You need to buy an isolator unit to prevent earth loop interference, its available from Autocom or their agents and in my case is a black/red box with two 3.5mm inputs (phone and GPS) and one 3.5mm output to plug into the autocom (the other autocom input is my MP3).

Sounds like i need the isolater unit then. Will have to take a ride tommorow and pick one up.
Cheers everyone

Darren ,you will need the below parts to get you fully sorted,

1x part 1285 £24 (twin isolated adaptor, this will plug into your AUX 4 socket)

1x part 1294 £5 (2.5mm mono to 3.5 mm steroe GPS interface lead)

If you are running the Garmin power and audio lead I recommend that you cut off the jack plug socket and 2.5mm jack plug and hard wire the two leads together. The garmin power and audio lead is good on the audio connection so you could loose your audio, follow the below

Cut off the Garmin plug and our 2.5mm jack plug

Red and Black are power leads and not used, pull these out due to them not being connected

Brown goes to the outer screen or cable core on our lead

White goes to the red on our lead.

job done

Rich @ Autocom

Cheers

Got the bits now so will get on with it over the weekend.
Thanks very much
