2610 Road Names on Audio

On another thread someone had posted that they were getting fed up hearing the road numbers being announced on there 2610, as in "..in 1mile turn left on the A623"

It's not the poxy A two hundred and forty nine...it's the bloody a two four nine!!!!!

I don't get that on mine, all I get is the "in 1mile turn left ". I would actually prefer the additional information but don't know how to get it. I'm running fully up to date Garmin and Mapsource software. Any ideas ??

Brewster, I may have got it wrong and confused the issue here TBH.....I'm not certain it was a 2610 unit...it was the one MrIfan has- to be honest I didn't check the model, but I thought it was a 2610........

All I know is it pronounced things the American way, which hearing it attempting all the SPanish names was quite amusing, and it insisted on reading the whole numbers like that...

I suspect that if your 2610 doesn't do it straight out of the box, then his may be a different model.....sorry!!!
