Has anyone used tracks logs on the 2610? If so, I was wondering how far you can go before the track logs get overwritten. Is there an optimal setting?

Thanks
Simon

The track logging (or lack of) is one of the major failings of the 2610.

It holds about a day's worth of track points and then overwrites.

If you want any more, you will need a 2720 or a Quest (which holds around 1800 miles-worth?)

If you really need track logging you should go for 276C, 60CX or Zumo. The 276C can log a month of riding while the other two can keep on logging forever since they use the SD memory card.

You'll be equally disappointed then!

Both the 2610 and the 2720 hold 2,000 tracklog points and neither offers TracBack mode.

The Quest, Quest 2 and my beloved Geko 201 all have 10,000 tracklog points and Trakback mode.

Oops! I've given a bum-steer on that one, then :nenau

I thought it was only the 2610 that was pants in the track-log dept :o

I do like the track-log facility, but wouldn't dismiss the 2610 (considering the new price) just because it was poor for that.

I had to send my Etrex Vista back for repair - it was 5 years old and I thought it may be an excuse to get a new 60CSX.

Those excellent folk at Garmin have sent me a brand new Etrex Vista - what great service!
