2610 Unit Recognition

Never found updating mapsource an easy task usually get in a muckin fuddle.
Now my question is this I know dead easy to anybody with any sense.

I was Given a brand new 2610 from Garmin a couple of years ago (don't ask)

I already have one but as the prices have dropped I think I ought to get it out of it's box & fire it up & use it.

Now I guess the map source 8 willl be on the card from my other unit but will the pc recognize the new unit if not what do I do to get it to recognize it when I plug it .
I just dont want to mess up the one which is working at the moment.

Any replies please speak clearly & very slowly carefully picking your words R.R.

Do you have a MyGarmin account? If you do log into it and click the link "Unlock additional Garmin unit" complete the forms and you will be issued with a 2nd unlock code for the other GPS.
