OK, this may seem like a stoooopid question, but....

I'm after a GPS (quest or 2610) and i'm tempted by the cracking deal on the 2610 at moment, but i havent seeen one to play with. I just looked atthe measurements, and doesnt look like it will fit in a pocket (????) so where do u put it when u park up?

I dont always have my panniers on if i'm just out for a day ride, and dont usually use a tankbag either, and my tailpack is a bit of a faff to put on and off!! I 'm thinking if i get one and its a hassle when i'm off the bike lugging it about then i'll not bother using it...so might go for the quest then i can just slip it in a pocket.

I use a lockable mount so for petrol stations I am OK, otherwise just bung it in a pocket or I use a Lifeventure bumbag sometimes, or I just give it to the wife - she always has room for something.

If you go with the GPS Whorehouse offer then you get a nice little Garmin carry bag with it. Just for the record , I too have the lockable Touratech mount for petrol stations etc..............my advice is to get one bought now before they sell out. I know the Zumo is a more up to date unit etc etc but the 2610 is a cracking bit of kit for the money. Enjoy dude :thumb

You dont get a bag from GPSWH at least I didnt.

2610 bag

The bag comes with extra the bike kit bundle but its not something i'd want to be walking around town with, well not my town anyway !!

hmm, well i think i soved the problem cos i got a new quest (sealed + not registered) for £200 My only concern now is the smallness of the screen when riding, but until it arrives and i try it on the bike i'll not know!!!

Half of me still wonders if i should have got the 2610....but i could see myelf not using it due to size, (on summer day rides if i'm not taking any luggage) and when i worked out where it would go on the bike it seemed quite intrusive - i like the screen tilted torwards me, not upright, so it means the gps has to be mounted further forward!

Anyway if i dont like it i'll bung it on ebay!!!

Youre all going to tell me now i should have got the 2610!!!

:D i was wondering how long it would be befre i got that first response

Hope you got a Uk quest with 243mb memory if you look on Ebay a lot of them only have a 115mb memory...Gpsw told me that the quest is a lot quicker than the quest 2 it might have more functions but its a lot slower than the original ...He also said the 2610 is the best unit for a bike well proven reliable plus compact flash cards that why i bought one:D

A UK spec Quest is a great GPS. I had one and it was very good, really wish I hadn't sold it to "upgrade" to a Quest 2 - v.long story. Screen size wasn't an issue for me though I understand you can get a magnifying lens if you're really myopic :)

Having said that I use a 2610 now and that's just as good :thumb
