2820 and CN v9 NT

Anyone know why the new release of City Navigator does not work with the 2820?.

The Garmin site says "This update is for the StreetPilot® c-series, i-series, 2720, 7200, 7500 and nüvi" and when I put in for the update it tells me that there are no map updates for my unit.

Whats going on??.

Have you asked Garmin? They're normally very helpfull and give quick replies, IMHO.

I own a BumW Nav III which, as far as I can ascertain, is the same as a 2820.

I tried asking Garmin exactly that question.

I also asked whether it was OK to use Version 9 NT on top of V8 NT + (I simply do not know if the plus sign is important).

I received what looks awfully like a computer generated reply, saying no updates are available as the map sets are being updated soon. This was not the question I asked, but there we go. It went on to say that I would be receiving an email (which I actually received a few days ago) telling me when the updates would be available for purchase.

The email directs me to the order page, where the 2820 is not listed.

So around in a circle I go, rather like GPS navigation.

I have now asked Garmin the question again but rephrased to cover both the 2820 and Nav III.

I own a BMW Nav III which, as far as I can ascertain, is the same as a Garmin 2820.

Question as follows:

I have received an email saying that Version 9 NT is now available and directing me to a Garmin website with a menu for ordering the update.

I am now confused.

(1) Neither the 2820 or the BMW Nav III is listed. Is V9 NT suitable for both the BMW Nav III and the 2820?

(2) My BMW Nav III is running Version 8 NT+ (note the plus). I see that V9 NT has no plus sign. Is this relevant, or do I wait for v9 NT+ to be launched?

Let's see what Garmin say.
