Done a search but can't find it, how do you turn of the ir on the 2820.

I think one has to stick a piece of tape over the IR window. I have a anti-glare visor on my unit, so I am not troubled by occasional mis-activation of the IR by bright sunlight.

Thanks for that. I could turn off the IR on my 2610 not shaw about the 2820
l can't find it maybe you can't, Tried the tape maybe its something else sounds like a machine gun sometimes like your tapping the screen.

Mitch, If there isn`t an option in the user menus to disable this there maybe something in the engineers pages.

With the unit off press and hold the menu button then turn the unit on. After a while you will be presented with the engineers screens, just be careful what you change!

You can scroll through the various pages of information and options by pressing the menu button again, eventually you return to the first page. To leave these screens simply turn the unit off and then restart in the normal way.

Never seen a 2820 but I`m assuminmg that the logic of the device will be the same, somewhere in there maybe an option to disable the IR.
