Still very happy with my 2820 but have noticed that since recent software update it now takes longer to aquire Sat positioning on startup and seems slightly more sensitive to tall buildings/tree cover etc., - anyone had a similar problem?

Now that you come to mention it, it was rather slow to pick-up yesterday.
After doing the latest update on my 2820, it constantly locks up. All I get is "drawing...." displayed on my screen - no map display at all - just a blank screen. I have to turn the unit off and back on to resolve it. It also seems slower and looses a signal where it never used to.
I used the web update service which stopped at 69% during the update procedure and hung. I had to download the update and manually install it. I don't think i'll bother with the web update feature again as I never experienced any problems when doing manual updates.

To the best of my knowledge, no changes whatsoever to the satellite acquisition or monitoring software were made in the release of the new software.
Perhaps there is a satellite up there with a flat tire (or satellite equivalent of that), or maybe the satellite geometry is worse than average today.
