Get a nice deposit if you know where theres a ducati lying around.;)

You already know i want one but cant afford it................but i think having access to the keys for the Duke and covering it in 400 miles of winter riding and watching it dissolve will be some way towards making me feel better after recent events ;)

Thank's !

Have to say it 'Top bacon butties', thanks very much !

Best Rideout ever. Really good roads and bacon butties. Good to meet old and lots of new faces.

Many thanks especially to Adam and Commuter for organising and to Dr Alf for wheelie tips.

He came this close --><-- to buying one, but the money got tied up elsewhere. The ZX6Risnt getting any newer tho, but a GS isnt the cheapest replacement.

Keep the pressure on.;)

What wheelie tips were they then?

I am really pissed off I couldn't make it now.

Low on brownie points, so spent the day being dragged around the fecking sales with the Mrs

The Dr prescribes 3,000 revs dialed in in 1st gear followed by shutdown of throttle followed by welly of throttle (not full).

Dr says start with small lift first and work way up to proper lift.

Dr says his apparent controlled wheelies are a sham and that his rear tyre could undertake his back-bottom at any moment.

Haven't tried it yet as I commute down the Holloway Road.

Theres more chance of the rear wheel overtaking his gearbox.:D

Great, I'll try tomorrow.

Do I sue you or the good Doctor if I fall off?:D

Can the same be done in second gear?

Yep, wheelies aren’t particularly healthy for the gearbox – I know coz I’ve written off one gearbox already and even though I have a spare one in the garage I’m sure Mr Malton wouldn’t be too chuffed to fit another one. Surely the occasional one can't hurt though:D

As for Wheelies in 2nd on an 1150 – easy peasy off a small hump or bump in the road but requires a bit of effort off the throttle alone. I like to stand on the pegs, lean back and really pull on the bars for a good 2nd gear wheelie but even then it sometimes goes a bit wrong and I just end up yanking my arms and looking very silly indeed.

I appreciate that wheelies aren’t to everyone’s tastes and are also extremely dangerous not to mention damaging to your bike so if it all goes horribly wrong, don’t come crying to me. Like I said to Andrew C – start off small and work up, don’t just nail the throttle and see what happens! Read here for more details.

Wheelie school later in the year then anyone?

If you had asked the same in July mate then i would have as i took Abels bike for a spin and had a giggle on it and with the mileage i do it would have been ideal.......had even looked at a couple of possibles to buy.........but sadly seperation, paying for new place to live and maintenance payments put paid to that idea, so stuck with the Jap inline 4 for the forseeable future...........but who knows what will happen ;)
