My phone contract is up for renewel and 3 are offering some cracking deals. Anyone currently with them and if so what are they like?

Don't touch 3 with a bargepole - absolutely awful company, on the plus side you will become very familiar with the inner workings of an Indian Call Centre....their quality of customer service coupled with a dreadful network (dropped calls, no signal, 3G was crap etc etc) meant I eventually smashed my phone into small bits with a hammer sent it back to 3 and told them to shove it.....:thumb

agree..

with garfield..couldnt wait to get rid! indian call centre was total crap, but polite! cheap for a reason, chap at work has had no problem with same phone and tarriff..i would never go back!

I'm on 3 -got the Skypephone ...'orrible....hate it & the software- really useless to sync with my Mac, iCal etc... think I'll change when my contract expires - Waiting to see what happens with the new iPhone when it arrives.
Only plus side is I don't need to use a mobile too much, and I get 100 free minutes to any 'phone or network, plus Skype of course.

Irrespective of the minutes you use each month you should consider moving to sim only.

I have tried both pay as you go and monthly contracts on sim only and they are very reasonable.

You can use most unlocked phones with these sim cards. Loads of unlocked phones to choose from on ebay or buy from somewhere like http://www.expansys.com/

I would take some persuading to go back to a contract phone having 'rolled my own' as it were.

Cheers

Just to balance it up a bit, I've just renewed with 3 on another 18 mth contract. The renewal deal is still good, but nowhere near as good as the one I got 18 mths ago. SUre the call centre is in India and I've not been entirely impressed with them, but I remember that with the UK helpdesk I used on O2 for years before that.

Coverage is good, and I've just bought their USB Broadband for my lappie and as a 3 customer its just £5 a month for 1Gb/mth or £7.50 for 3Gb/mth, half the usual price.

If you want a cheap good coverage (no problems abroad) I think it aint bad.

Early days, but happy with 3 so far. Good coverage and the staff in the shop are very helpful. I like the fact I can check my usage and get free ebay and talk with my bestest mate (who's also on 3) for free.

I like it. :thumb2

They're fairly competitive on their data rates - 'unlimited' data for just a £5 add-on. Compare that with £1/mb with Orange.:(

Thanks for the info guys, seems to be a bit hit and miss for folks. I have considered pay as you go but it does look to be more expensive over 12 month when you factor in a new phone.
May stick with vodaphone if I can haggle a decent 12 month deal.
