It all started here, although Strommer and I have never met (until today) we has suggested in this thread to meet for lunch.

Mr Strommer was on holiday so the idea was shelved. My wife had gone to see some relatives, so I dropped a message to Mr Strommer to see if I could tempt him away from his holiday:evil .
A series of text messages last week found a plan laid out for the meeting today, some 200 miles away from my base, but hey..........who needs and excuse to ride!!
So the plan:
I get up early and pile the things to take up, I want to hear some nice sounds on the way and have an easy to view map as my GPS map of Turkey hasn't arrived in time for the trip
Yes those cookies are quite unbelivably call NEGRO. Not sure if they are on sale anywhere else in the world.
I am on the road by 7.45am and thread through Downtown Antalya in around 40minutes, soon I am climbing out of the heat trap of the town
I am keeping a good pace as I have around 200 miles to fit in on twisty roads before meeting Strommer for Lunch, I don't quite keep to the 78kph speed limit but do stop frequently for water intake and snacks as the temperture is hitting 35 to 40oC today.
A few views:
and the road is like this
I spot this long beast sitting collecting dust on the side of the road......expensive to run in Turkey I would imagine...
I soon arrive in
closely followed by:
Where I have to stop and add some fuel to the bike......check this out for a nice price - how much you paying in the UK....this is YTL so around £38.00 for 25 litres of unleaded 97ron
I move on, wondering if I will need more fuel today.......
I am travelling this close to the sea now after most of the trip in the mountains so far:
Soon however, I am back on the climb into the hills and after an hour of covering some miles and lots of smiles I see a tree to shelter from the heat and take on some much needed water:
my break of water and
is interrupted by some company
I am also admiring a tall tree when I realise it is bearing some of my favourite fruit.
The Tree
The Fruit - FIGS!
I had to eat them!!
I am soon getting close to KAS, a nice town with lots of beautiful views, I stop just outside to cool off and take a few shots of the road and overview of the town:
I move through KAS and out onto some AMAZING coastal roads which are rollercoaster like. I work very hard in the heat at having a lot of cornering practice!! I am smiling like a child inside my helmet.
I stop on the edge of the road........quite close to the edge and no chance of mistakes here!
I am very hot.....and sweaty.......Here I am.....
I move on from KAS and soon start entering Kalkan, where suddenly a KTM appears from a side road, I pass and wave..........I pull up a few miles up the road and see if they stop.....they do
Meet Mr Murat and his girlfriend from Istanbul,
he has been on a week long tour around the southern area of Turkey and his girlfriend has joined him by plane only yesterday for a weekend together. Murat it turns out races 525EXC in the Turkish cup.......something I know nothing about. We travel for a while together, then they peel off for lunch.....little do I know this is the first of 2 meetings we have today.
Soon I stop for some water and tea at the side of the road in a make shift stall area, the lad running the place is quite taken with the bike, I let him sit on it.
I am now 40kms from Feithye where I am planning to meet Strommer for lunch, I am early so relax and take my time. I arrive around 12.30, thumb Mr Strommers number and soon we are saying hi to one another at a very central part of town.
After a good lunch....no shots I am afraid.
We head out for a quick loop to the the lagoon known as oludeniz. We suit up and ride down to the shore where we stop for a quick drink before heading our separate ways. As luck find us, Murat and his girlfriend along with their KTM arrive. I manage to catch a shot of the 3 main adventure bikes in a beach town in Turkey.
There is some activity above which I cannot under why someone would want to do.....I am sure they think the same about bikes!
I say my farewells to Murat and Strommer and head off into the countryside.
With KTM Murat's advice I head back to Kalkan to take some mountain road home, which he used the day before.......I start climbing away from the shore:
I travel for an hour and soon seek shade and water intake again
I spot the new touratech accessories:rofl
I enjoy the view, it is cooler higher up
Soon the road cuts inland and is up and down like a rollercoaster ride.....
I start to push harder for home, I want to be indoors before dark....the roads and wildlife and not the best in Turkey, I would prefer not to be caught by either. I am home some 2 hours later.
Here are some shots from the last couple of stops: Thanks for looking.
