I for one am quite pleased to have the "100 BHP" engine, as in Belgium I payed around €100 to register mine. With the current yearly road tax on my bike being €46.

However, with the new "105 BHP" engine it will cost €500 to register it and the yearly road tax will be around €300 per year!

This is all to do with a European 100 BHP limit, which in Belgium and Germany you can go over, but must pay a premium for. :spitfire In France you're capped to 100 BHP! I'm not sure for the rest of europe, but it doesn't make good reading, especially as I've heard whispers about this sort of taxation could be hitting the UK sometime soon!

Hence, I wonder if BMW will loose many European sales with this 5 BHP hike!
I know I wouldn't have bought one and would have most probably gone for a Guzzi Norge 1200 instead!

46 euro tax

seem to remember mine being ALOT more :(

07 GS12ADV Maybe mine included the 100 euro!!

Yes, the first payment is all in one!

The first users registering tax is around €146 or so including yearly road tax. The actual yearly road tax in Belgium for a large motorcycle producing less than 100 BHP (PK) is around €46 inc. BTW. :)
