well here we are 5 months on with the '06 1200GS, everything still works and shes been fine, MPG much better than the KTM and seems to frighten car drivers as much as the 1150 used to years ago when i had it.
very good forum and have become an avid reader, this has lead to various checks on the bike (FPC full of water, losing Neutral indication cured by sparing the gear position sensor, alternator belt cover hiding loads of crud etc)
fuel gauge pretty random, but they all do that? i just wait for the yellow triangle!
all I have added is a charging point and a couple of cheap LED running lights (bikevis.com)
and it seems from all the comments about servo brakes and ABS I am better off without??!!
as always will be running it through the winter and giving it the odd wash
