What an absolute blinder of a ride - top photos and stunning roads. I'm struggling to think why I don't just sort my French out and move over there...

Superb stuff - thanks!

French? You don't need French. Just shout in English. I always think my French is really good, but when I see the expressions on the faces of my kids (who go to French school) when I'm speaking 'French'....oh dear. I was on the phone to France Telecom the other week and caught them sniggering behind my back. Little feckers....

Franco, I'm on me way......................... :rob Only a few more days and we'll be riding many of these roads.Leave blighty on sat am and we're there. Can't wait...... :clap :bounce1 :bounce1

Apparently they're forecasting snow this weekend... Safe ride down , and remember and drive on the right, and fill up on Saturdays :D

Bon route.../Rob

Nice start to the day leaving the village (Callian) at 8:30am

Franco,
That first shot sits above my computer except it shows my
R11S taken just down the road from Callian.....2 years ago.
Mine's crap quality and certainly doesn't give the view justice...

.

Blimey. Le monde est petit...You could always photoshop your bike onto my picture :D Or come back again, and I'll take a photo of you, now you know where we are. Did you stay in Callian?

Rob

Hi Rob,

...I was travelling through France to Pyrenees then down to Pepignan and over to 'Mons' where a mate of mine lives....has an office in Callian. Stayed with him for a night then shot back from Mons to Harrogate in 20 hours.....I was late for a night shift.
Up to the Nordkapp this year then back down to the Verdon G. next.

Great photos by the way.....

hi franco, hope you can help have you came across any decent camp sites close to the coast with pool ect near nice, vence, monoco ect, could you keep a look out for me on your next mission out on your bike, cheers tony

Stunning scenery and photos Franco, you've just put the South of France on the biking menu again :beerjug:

Fantastic pics of your back yard Rob... makes Holme Moss look a tad dull.. :D

Hmmm... so thats why my house mates have been keeping it quiet... they just bought a place near Castellane.. and he's taking his 1150GS down there for 'storage'.. so he can 'free up the some garage space' back here... :D

I see another holiday coming on... :clap ... fly to Nice... get on his insurance.. :thumb :D

Here Gordo, same view, looking over to Callian from the Montauroux road. Nice and sunny this morning.

However, when I was coming home, it was freezing and thunderstorms in the afternoon. This is taken on our road, and that's snow on the mountains where I'm headed (I spun the bike round to go back and take a piccie)

No problems Tony, I'll ask a few of the guys in the office. There's also this website, (also in English) which gives details on facilities. Good info, we've used it a lot. http://campingfrance.com/ If you've got any specific questions if you see some possibilities, feel free to fire me a PM.

Storing it in Castellane? It's a real crime hotspot up there, and very clod winters could damage the bike. Tell him you know someone in Callian who could 'look after' it whilst he's not using it :D Gimme a shout if you're heading over.

Hey Rob,
that's great.........that bush on the right hand side
is, I'm sure, the same one I parked up by...the left hand side
on my photo.
Yes, it was Montauroux, not Callian where my mate has
an office. Both lovely villages
