50s everywhere...

I don't know if ive been blind over the last few months but i did a little bimble today from Quatt to Craven Arms - Hereford - Ross - Stroud - Broadway - Stratford and it seems everythings becoming 50 limits. I know this was bounded about the press recently but my god, its mental.. Even the run to Craven arms has the signs up but are blanked out ready for wiping off...

This will just cause fustration cus you know theres going to be some old duffer who wont go within 10 of the speed limit.

Expect more accidents.. especially from cars.. i wonder how the stats will pan out..

Yup. Completely and utterly stupid. Do they think that the drivers/riders who ignore the 60 limits will suddenly obey the new 50 and 40 limits...?

Most of the feckwits in cars on rural roads only seem to fart along at 40-45mph anyway.

Christ knows why....then you get all those fecking daft daisy chains of them crawling along.

Don`t they know what the speed limit really is ??

Aren`t they taught how to overtake anymore ??

Round here we've now got 50 on the A roads, but the little roads are still national limit??

Spoke to a copper recently who said that they didn't approve and wouldn't be trying too hard to enforce them

The only reason the limit has been lowered is because the lower the speed limit the lower the standard of road maintenance legally required from the council,highways,etc.
Hence the shit state of the roads. This info came from a local counciller.
