Hi all,

What the maximum miles you guys have done b4 taking it in for the 600 miles service. Only got the bike on Tuesday tried to book in for service but was told cannot get it done until 2nd week of October as they are fully booked, :spitfire I have already covered 400 miles.ps its a GS1200

Cheers.

Give the dealer a ring to explain the situation, just to forewarn them. It shouldn't case too many problems, but I guess it depends on how many miles you'll have clocked up by then.

I did 854 miles on my 1150 ADV , Sept 05 , nothing was said . :thumb

I bought my ADV from a dealer with 1200 miles on it.
It was their demo bike.
When I looked at the service book I found that they had done the 600 mile service at 900 miles.
So, what's good for the goose.

Mike.

Our local BMW garage advised my husband to leave his 1200GS until it had done over 800 miles before he booked it in for it's first service - they said closer to 1000 miles was best.
They said the same about my 650GS - it had done 500 when I bought it. They suggested 800-1000 before servicing.

Mine went in with around 900 IIRC, no problems.

Just check the oil religiously during the period and you should be ok.

FWIW, it's not meant to be 600 miles anyway...it's in KM and I believe it comes out to around 640miles ....so us Brits get them serviced more often than Spandau meant us to

It's 1,000km which is 621 miles. :thumb

Thanks all for info, guess what i will be doing tomorrow?, putting a few more miles on my GS. :) (god i love this bike)

I was told by my dealer that no more than 800 miles,I guess the answer is to book your service when you order the bike.
SPC managed is fit me in if I didnt have a loan bike.

Prestige sorted out the 600 mile service the day I picked up the bike. They were able to slot it in exactly when I wanted it. :thumb
