6000 miles & annual service

My 1200 is going in for its first annual service on Wednesday. When i booked it in i was asked the mileage - its done about 4800. They then asked if i wanted the 6000 mile service done at the same time `it will save you about 80 quid` i was told.

Now forgive me but is the 6000 mile service not an annual service? Or is this another example of BMW ripping off the customer again.

If it was a car no-one would stand for this.

Just booked mine in at Bath Road MCs. Told they'd stamp the book for both, as (going by my dodgy memory)the brake fluid change is now a 2yearly change job, & clutch fluid longer than that; so as far as they are concerned it's all included in the 6000 service. Cost approx £180 including oil, filters etc.
