I've got a powder coating marathon going on tomorrow and I've removed everything but the swine of a centre stand. Is there an easy way to do it?

I nearly, just nearly got one of the springs to come off but give it up as a bad job.

When I fitted mine many moons ago I found the best way was to put the springs on and then with a bit of manoeuvering put the bolts in. Once you've got one bolt in you can use that as a pivot to fit the other bolt. Then tighten.
Removal was, as I recall, pretty much a reversal of this process. I can't remember offhand which bolt was best to remove first. I think it was the one nearest the springs.

:D Its a bastid isn't it

brassmonkey has the right answer, remove the two bolts first then remove the springs. should be fairly easy to remove after that, another thing to try is loads of washers / coins in the spring itself.

Have fun putting it back on :augie
