Having sorted the electrical glitches at relatively low cost and little or no blood spilled I thought I’d address the final boggle on my 2008 bike, the rattling on start up.
Seems the recommendation worldwide is to fit the Motorworks supplied ENA31009 tensioners - £72.50. I will see if my Haynes manual covers this but if not is this an easy job for a novice mechanic or best left to the experts?
Thanks

I replaced the cam chain tensioner on my ‘09 F800 GS at around 98,000 miles , using the updated OEM part, which came with a longer / stronger spring. It certainly quietened it down 👍

Good to know, is it a simple job with reasonable access?

Easy to get out, to put back you need to have strong hands and turn engine over slowly using back wheel . Half hour or so, did make a difference and new owner happy as well
