Can you load a map to each of the 1 - 3 pot positions, or is it just one map that is then adjusted by the bike?

One map that is adjusted by the bike.
Just had my 2014 remapped and I asked what setting it needed to be in on the dial under the seat.He said it didn't matter as all the dial does is change the ignition curve not the the fueling.

Made a massive difference getting a full dyno remap.

Thanks for that. The previous owner has loaded a map from Ama (?) over on advrider which isn't great. Will try to go back to a stock map if I can find one and go from there.

Who did you use for the dyno remap if you don't mind me asking?

I use tune ecu,
Have my own lead and have tried 3 different maps in mine.
The best maps are the ones listed as described

Ktm map-standard bike
Akro map-obviously for the akro can
Evo 1 map- The one I have now, Full akro system and open filter, and it runs a treat.
There is an Evo 2 map but that is if you change the cam as well..

The original map that was in the bike must have been corrupted as is kept cutting out, I pulled the map and reloaded it and it ran a lot better just from doing that, The thing is that that map had been put in by KTM themselves.

Thanks both. I now have Tuneecu and have made up a cable. Slightly worryingly, the tps trace on Tuneecu only shows the throttle going from 1% to 9%. Also had a fault code showing a duff air intake sensor so I've replaced it.

I have had throttle issues ie. it's like an on off switch. Bike came with a wings exhaust and I've just added the RR foam air filter. I've downloaded the maps off the bike (how long did that take!!) so I think I'll try sticking the Evo 1 map on and see how I go.

Edit - I've done the throttle reset and reset adaptations and still have a 1-9 tps.

The air intake always shows a fault if the ignition is switched on with the airbox off (sensor not connected).

My old 690 used to run really well on the first Akro map. I had an Akro and KTM foam air filter. Also runs better with the valve clearances set to the upper value rather than smaller gaps. Also set the plug gap at the recommended setting as from the box they are a bit small.

All easy things to do.

The sensor was connected when it showed the fault. Went for a quick spin around the garden tonight and replacing the sensor seems to have cured the on off throttle. Happy days.

The intake noise is louder than the exhaust with the foam filter! Not sure how antisocial it is but it does go like stink.

Lord knows what the 1-9% throttle thing is in Tuneecu. It rides fine. I'll leave the mapping for now as its behaving.
