690R + Rally Raid Adv Fairing

Black for me Tim, nice bike bet you wish you had that for the TAT.

Had a bit of a billy no mates trail ride on it today Stu, beforehand would've said no prefer the 640 but I never a knew a bike could be this good :eek

Rick's had a superb job done on the suspension, the bike's smooth, fast, light, comfortable and easy to ride so yes, it's the perfect bike for the TAT:blast

Just making a few tweaks to suit me and learn to ride slightly differently because of the fuel injection:)

Looks good, twas a good price and a bargain for sure, enjoy.:beerjug:

Poor 640 Adv will be feeling very left out Tim - I hope you don't put them both in the same garage!:tears

Rear shock changed to a RR 300mm with a softer spring to match the front and it just floats:)

Today I fitted a CycleWorks fuel pump and re plumbed it to take an external filter, a couple of tweaks to make yet but couldn't resist taking her out for spin this afternoon.
Perfect! :)

Is that the rear shock that Geoff was using on his for the TAT?

Yes mate it is although I've changed the spring down from 90 or 95 to 80nm, it's still tall because of the length of travel which was Geoff's problem but the sags right for me and seemed to have got away without a revalve by backing the slow compression damping off.

I've lifted the forks around 14mm which has surprisingly got the steering spot on, it under steered for me when I first got the bike which I'd put down to having more travel in the forks standard rear shock with 95nm spring.
Now with both ends having more travel but a softer rear it's still great with the forks raised and no stability issues at speed:confused:

There is a man here that makes carbon fibre body parts for the fairing a friend had some made look good.

does anyone know which pannier frames this bike has as they look exactly like what I am after? fingers crossed.

Well it was grabbed thank you Rick, had a first short spin today, JEEZ what a bike!

Changed the screen for one I had. Black or as it was?

thanks muchly, racks on order :-)

I've altered mine to take Wolfman luggage with four loops welded on and brackets to take a tool tube, also if you fit a TT rack it'll need reinforcing at the bend as they crack.

The bike proved to be faultless on a recent trip except I made an error in fitting a softer rear spring which may be fine here in Wales but not not on fast open trails with big whoops, so gone back to the stiffer one:blast

Totally different bikes I know Tim, but how did you find it compared to your 640/

The 640's always been a keeper for me Stu and perhaps suits me as I feel I can ride the wheels off it, can't afford to keep two similar bikes so, as brilliant as it is I'm unsure whether I'll be able to keep the 690, trouble is it now owes me quite a bit of money!

Love the power and lightness of the 690 which also makes it great fun on twisty roads plus less vibes etc.
If I were to have just one bike in my life then perhaps it would be this 690:thumb
