It's big n' heavy if you have a CAT - no CAT and it's not a problem. I have a Remus Grand prix on my 1100 - with front silencer - where the big heavy bit is. The Remus is a 2 piece so you can try is with an ' S' piece and if it's too loud for you invest in the front silencer. Personally I like it with the front silencer fitted and that's how I bought it . Fitting is a simple job , just a couple of bolts and slide it off - slide the new one on - it took me about 20 minutes.
Go on - you know it makes sense :D

PS Next question - how do I know if I have a CAT..... ? Get down on your hands and knees on the right side of the bike - look at the front of the 'big heavy bit' and if you see something which looks a bit like a spark plug sticking out with a wire attached - you have a CAT. If you see a Nut sitting there with no wire attached - you have a DOG :D

R850GS has no CAT

Mr Hairnet,
I like you have a R850GS and have fitted a Sebring pipe (which I purchased from this list). The pipe is a one piece unit and there is no CAT. My 850 is a 2001 model so one of the last and I'm confident none of the 850 gs's had CAts.

Its simple to fit (although I lost a nail when taking the old one off.

Wise choice youv'e made by the way.

Have Fun

No cat on my '00 850 GS either, but it does now have a Remus Revolution + 'S' pipe, easily fitted and that improved mid-range enormously. Didn't find any advantage in running without the baffle, ie in 'race' mode, bit more noise and not a lot more go. Stuck the baffle in again and I'm happy as a pig in shite

hello

Seem to remember Gecko posted some pix of the underside of his bike when he fitted a Remus, think the thread was called 'GS1100 reborn' or similar. Do a search and check it out
