Hi Everyone Seasons Greetings.

Can any of you technical tossers tell me the difference between ABS and INTEGRAL braking systems. The reason I ask is a mate of mine owns a 2000 1150GS and wants to swop his rear brake light lens for a different shaped one. The one he likes on Wunderlich web site states it cannot be used with integral braking system, is this another term for ABS. I did not think that the 1150's were linked so I have discounted that, but I maybe wrong.

Cheers in advance,:thumb

Integral brakes are linked. Pull the front brake lever, does the back brake come on also? If yes, then it's got integral brakes. ABS is Anti-lock brakes.
I don't know if you can have Integral brakes without ABS :nenau

AFAIK pre-servo brakes on the 1150 GS were not linked and therefore not "integral".

So, if he's got ABS then I would say that as it's a 2000 bike they're not "integral", going off what my 2002 GS had.

They mean servo bikes, nothing to do with plain old ABS -

your friends bike is way to early for servo, thank god
