Well the weather has been just so amazing and with tyoday being the start of 3 weeks off work I thought I'd better make the most of it however I had a pile of mail to answer, a couple of lawns to mow and all my washing from offshore to sort out so it wasn't until after 4pm when I had finished all that.
Anyway - fuelled up and had a pootle around the Cairn o'mount which is only a few miles from where I live. Just as Ronno did the other day I thought I would head into the woods and see if I got moved on. I was actually hoping to meet either the owner or his workers to feel the ground for regular venturing. The first part was typical forrest tracks with obvious fresh logging operations going on. I recon it was such a lovelly day that they had all knocked off early for the day as I saw nobody about. I carried on for a few miles and the forrest finished but the road continued climbing up the hillside. It went on for mile after mile with not a sould about. I was in heaven, glorious sunshine, spectacular scenery and not a sould about. I had even packed a tin of juice which I saved for the top. The track runs along side Clach-na-ben which is the big hill with the rocky outcrop yu see up to the right of you when heading south over the Cairn o'mount. The road carried on long after I turned back because i had an "Oh Shit" moment..... I realised that not only did I have to pick my son up from Golf at 6pm but we were heading into Aberdeen to watch the Australian Pink Floyd show..... I'm not sure which was best the stunning views are Aussie Floyd both amazing....
By the way the red dotted line in the last pic is the route I took when I came into the forrest. This was taken on my way down again. The small village near to the entrance is Stachan and I live about 2 miles past there.

PS. Before anyone asks - the reason there are only numbers on the first pic are because that's the first time I noticed they were still on there from the Cambrian Rally and I saw themn when checking the photo so took them off as its bad to have racing numbers on when you are off road green laning (or trespassing as its called in Scotland
).
